* With my recent site catastrophe I lost a few of my posts. This was one of them, but I thought it was too important not to put back up. It won’t be word for word like the first one, but the message is all the same.

“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love. By returning, you may ensure that fewer souls are maimed, fewer families are torn apart. If that seems to you a worthy goal, then we say good-bye for the present.” – Albus Dumbledore

I find starting with this quote is very fitting, considering we were two of the few only kids in elementary school who had read the series. We were bright. She was bright, and so much more.

Anjelica Hadsell was one of the constant things in my life.

Considering all the mess I went through, she was always there. Even when we had our conflict in the 9th grade, she was still everywhere. We played on the same softball and soccer teams, went to the same schools for a little while, and until the 9th grade, lived in the same neighborhood. Although my life was taking me into an entirely different direction, she still managed to be there for me and to make sure I was okay.

She’s the type of friend you don’t come across very often.

So you can only imagine the pain and sadness when she was gone.

I can remember the day we all found out like it was yesterday. All the crying, the hugging, the disbelief. All in one house at the same time. I remember feeling numb and in shock at first. Trying to make sure her loved ones were okay, trying to make sure my loved ones were informed. I remember that it wasn’t until my mom got there that I finally allowed myself to break down. It wasn’t until she told me that it was okay, that the tears started.

We looked for her for an entire month. I don’t think anyone truly thought it would end the way it did.

Naturally, after everything settled down, (as much as it could settle down) her mother came up with an idea. Something we could all do to help cope with our loss.

The Anjelica Hadsell Memorial Scholarship Foundation,

Was made to assist two high school seniors continue with their education. These students highlight the some of the awesome characteristics that AJ had. Like committing to community service, and excelling in academics as well as athletics.

We host a variety of different fundraisers each year to raise money to supplement the scholarships. From bake sales to softball tournaments, we really think of all possibilities to make this happen.

Here’s where you come in.

There are multiple ways you can help us with our cause:

1. The easiest, and probably least time consuming, is to just donate. You see the little donate button on the side of the screen? Just click on that and it will take you to the screen with a nice yellow donate button on it. You can donate anywhere between .01 or $1,000,000,000. Whatever your heart’s desire. We can use any and all the help we can get.
2. The second way you can help is by getting involved. We host a lot of events every year that require some man power to get done. So if you can only give an hour or so of your time, that’s a huge benefit to the cause. We understand that dedicating every single day isn’t always an option, but we are highly appreciative of the help we do receive! 3. The third way you can help us out is by sharing! We post almost daily about our events and needing volunteers. You may not be able to help out, but maybe someone on your friends list can! We welcome everyone that is willing to work for the cause into the fold. Don’t know us? Well, we welcome everyone with open arms!

Our next event is April 2, 2017.

It’s actually my favorite event that we host because I feel the most connection with her at this event compared to others. Of course, it’s a softball tournament. It’s being held at Little Creek National Baseball and Softball fields starting from 8am to 9pm. We are accepting registration from different Co-Ed slow pitch softball teams here.
